UMCOR Sager-Brown
(United Methodist Committee on Relief)

6.25.2008   Our congregation is blessed with many willing and faithful servants of Christ.  Several weeks ago, the Friendship Class launched a drive to collect health kits to be delivered to the UMCOR Sager-Brown Depot in Baldwin, LA.  The effort was a huge success by all measures.  Many of you donated supplies or money to purchase kits.  Others helped with shopping to put together complete kits.  And a team of six (Dolores Peterson, Suzanne LaHaye, Barbara Deger, Jean Lembeck, Dixie Saucier and Brenda Francois) traveled to Sager-Brown on June 25 to volunteer for the day.  They, along with others from around the country, helped with packing supplies that will be shipped to needy areas here in the U.S. as well as around the world.  The UMCOR ministry is a global force that responds to disasters and people in need…usually either first on the scene or one of the first aid agencies to respond.  Pray for its mission and your support of it.  UMCOR Sager Brown Depot

The congregation plans to send a team of volunteers to Baldwin three times each year (spring, summer & fall).  If you have questions or want to join a future team, simply send an email to fumc@fumceunice.org.
